Fall Crafts for Kids: Magical Forest Wand
There’s something magical about Fall! The colourful leaves, golden rays of sunshine, sweet smell of bonfires and the perfect time to make a Magical Forest Wand — one of our favourite Fall crafts for kids.
FALL CRAFTS FOR KIDS
To me, Fall crafts for kids are all about getting outdoors and using the best of nature. They’re about putting on sweaters, heading out as a family and creating something magical together — outside.
That’s why I love these Magical Forest Wands — because they bring out the best of the season for you and your family to enjoy. Not to mention, they are a creative way to make use of all the beautiful and colourful leaves and twigs right on our doorsteps.
MAGICAL FOREST WANDS
This is easily one of our favourite Fall crafts for kids and family activities — and your kids will love making them, just as much as they will love playing with them.
All you need are leaves, twigs, pipe cleaners, a glue gun and cardstock. Get your kids to pick out the leaves and twigs, and help put it together.
STEPS:
Head out into your backyard or a nearby park and gather twigs and leaves
Trim twigs to about 1.5 feet in length and remove all off-shoots (use gardening pruners for cutting the twigs)
Star Wand
Use a cookie cutter to trace star shape, cut and glue back (with glue gun) of the star to top of twig to secure in place. Let dry.
Spider Wand
Fold four pipe cleaners in half, and cup to make eight strips
Take one strip, and use it to tie pipe cleaners in middle
Take the ends of the tie and place around the twig tip
Take a new pipe cleaner and wrap it around tie ends and twig tip to hold in place
Bend pipe cleaners ends to make it look like spider legs (or a firework)
Leaf Wand
Gather a bunch of leaves together by the stem (should look like a leaf pompom)
Hold the stems together and place along the tip of the twig
Use a pipe cleaner to wrap around the stems and twig tip to hold in place
And voila, three fun Magical Forest Wands for your kids to make and have fun playing with all day long.
Save this post, and give it a try. This is one of the best Fall crafts for kids and your kids will love it.
