The Illustrations

And so it begins! I’m in the studio starting the process of illustrating my new children’s book, Stuck Like Glue.

I can’t wait to share the ride with you!

Here’s a little on my illustration process:

  1. Sketching – I’ll start by sketching out the characters and landscape using a pad and pencil to figure out style and flow

  2. Storyboard – I’ll sketch out a general sense / plan of the illustrations for each page and spread

  3. Colour Scheme – I’m very picky about colours, and will pick out the right colours for the story to make it look cohesive, bright and cheery

  4. Drawing & painting – I’ll use my Wacom to draw out the actual pages and then paint them, and I’m leaning towards watercolour and coloured pencils

  5. Page layout – I will then take the drawings and import them to InDesign or Canva to create the page layout and add text

After that, the publishing process begins!
