DIY Costume

Have you ever wanted to be a superhero? Well, now you can — with this fun and easy DIY superhero costume.

In our house, we love to dress-up and we love to be crafty. SO, it would make total sense for us to try this at home. It’s fun and easy, and everyone can make one.

To begin, download and print this mask traceable.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Cereal Box (soft Kraft cardboard)

  • Toilet Paper Roll

  • Ribbon

  • Hole Puncher

  • Pencil

  • Scissors

  • Paint

  • Decorations (sparkles, pompoms, stars, etc.)

Steps for the Mask:

  • Unfold cereal box, lie flat (Kraft side up), use mask traceable to draw mask, and cut out using scissors

  • Use hole puncher to create two holes on either side

  • Let your kids paint and decorate (using the Kraft side)

  • Once dried, thread ribbon through

  • Tie on, and have fun

Steps for the Armband:

  • Let your kids paint and decorate, let dry

  • Cut a slit lengthwise from top to bottom

  • Put on, and have fun

For the cape, we used an old one from a kid’s birthday party we went to. I try to keep all these things and put them in a box, because you never know when they may come in handy. In the future, I will try to make my own! Stay tuned for that.
